Poland is Importing Millions of Tons of Coal Again. Imports Rose by 168%
Source: Energetyka 24 In the first half of the year, thermal coal imports to Poland surged by 168% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a volume of 3.06 million tons. More than half of the imported raw material comes from Kazakhstan, with Colombia being the second main supply destination. The dynamic growth in imports is driven by increased energy demand and growing concerns over gas supply and prices, even though domestic mines are also trying to maintain production. If the current pace of foreign purchases continues, this year's coal imports could reach their highest level in several years.
